Description

A delicious Simple Crockpot Lasagna featuring layers of creamy ricotta, gooey mozzarella, and savory meat sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 jars (22 fl oz each) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lb uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 tub (16.8 oz) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • fresh parsley or basil for garnish
  • nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Brown: In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, brown the extra-lean ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, stirring until fragrant and the meat is nearly cooked through.
  2. Mix: Stir in one jar of tomato sauce, along with ½ teaspoon of salt and black pepper. Let the mixture meld together for a couple of minutes before removing it from heat.
  3. Grease: Generously spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon a small amount of the meat sauce onto the bottom as a flavorful base layer.
  4. Layer: Break uncooked lasagna noodles to fit into your slow cooker, placing them over the meat sauce. Add dollops of creamy ricotta and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top: Pour the second jar of tomato sauce over the top layer, adding the remaining mozzarella cheese. Carefully pour ½ cup of water around the edges to help cook the noodles evenly.
  6. Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours, until the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Rest: Let the lasagna sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or basil for a pop of color and flavor!

Notes

Use fresh herbs for a burst of vibrant flavor that will elevate your lasagna to the next level. Store leftovers properly for best results.
