Description

Slow cooked pull-apart tender hot honey barbecue chicken piled high on toasty buns with pickles and mayonnaise.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 6 brioche buns
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 23 sliced dill pickles

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Mix barbecue sauce, Franks red hot sauce, and honey in a small bowl. Reserve half of the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge.
  2. Step 2: Add chicken to the slow cooker and pour hot honey barbecue sauce mixture over the chicken. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for about 3 hours until chicken is fork tender and cooked through to at least 165 degrees.
  3. Step 3: Shred chicken with two forks and mix in remaining sauce from the fridge.
  4. Step 4: Lightly toast your buns. Spread mayonnaise on buns and top with pulled chicken and sliced pickles.

Notes

You can cut the recipe in half for a smaller crowd or double it for a larger crowd.
