Description

Bone-in chicken thighs slow cooked with garlic and brown sugar for a tender, savory-sweet dinner with minimal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 chicken thighs, skin-on, bone-in
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  1. Step: Add chicken thighs, garlic, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.
  2. Step: (Optional) Sear chicken skin-side down in a skillet with oil for a few minutes to brown the skin.
  3. Step: Flip chicken so the skin side faces up.
  4. Step: Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the chicken.
  5. Step: Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
  6. Step: Serve hot. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Searing the chicken skin-side down before slow cooking improves color and texture but is optional. Do not open the lid during cooking.
